Gastón Baquero (Banes, Cuba, 1914-Madrid, 1997), Cuban poet, essayist and journalist, arrived in Spain in April 1959 as a consecrated man in the world of Latin-American literature. He was supported by figures such as Camilo José Cela and José García Nieto, and collaborated with numerous media outlets such as RNE.

This book contains essays and literary articles that illustrate his character as an author and provide a revealing overview of his creative universe. All the lyrical, historical, social and cultural themes fit in this volume written with an extraordinary lyricism, making it a jewel of knowledge.

Alberto Díaz-Díaz (Santa Clara, Cuba, 1967), writer and investigative journalist, is a specialist in the life and work of Gastón Baquero. He has published two volumes on his biography (Destellos y desdén, Luces y tinieblas) and several anthologies of his essays, as well as numerous articles on the Cuban author.
