The mission of this private non-profit foundation is to promote scientific, cultural and humanistic values that form part of our world heritage. It pursues this mission through a prestigious annual awards programme, intense activity in the field of music, and a cultural programme for schools in Asturias.


Fundación Premios Jaume I

These annual awards, in their 34th edition in 2022, recognise the lifetime achievements of scientists and professionals who have spent their entire career in Spain. The winners receive a cash endowment and pledge to invest part of it in Spanish research and entrepreneurial initiatives.


Real Instituto Elcano

The mission of this institute is to contribute to the development of innovative ideas and responses to global challenges and their governance, with a special focus on Spain’s role in the European project and the wider world. An interdisciplinary team of experts analyses the international scene to assess how social transformations affect the reality of this country.


Casa de América

This consortium made up of several public organisations emerged to strengthen the ties between Spain and the Americas.

With this aim, it promotes a variety of activities related in particular to the culture and social, political and economic reality of Latin America and the Caribbean, involving individuals and institutions from both sides of the Atlantic.


La Granda Courses Association

The Foundation is one of the sponsors of the summer courses organised by this association in Avilés (Asturias). Last year’s edition held from 1 to 31 August brought together a group of experts to discuss topics related science, industry and Spanish culture.


Fundación Créate

Fundación Créate is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the research, design and implementation of educational programmes for primary, secondary and vocational pupils that foster the talent of the teachers and emphasise learning through the development of emotional and social skills.


Fundación Museo del Ejército

One of the main activities of this private non-profit organisation is to support the conservation and dissemination of the artistic and historical heritage of the Spanish army. The collaboration of Fundación Banco Santander in 2022 facilitated the restoration of various pieces in the textile collection of the Museo del Ejército (Army Museum).
