Punto de partida. The Isabel and Agustín Coppel Collection is part of the contemporary art exhibition series organised at the Art Gallery of Grupo Santander City. The exhibition includes a selection of works from the Coppel couple's collection, one of the most important Mexican collections of international contemporary art.
The curators of the exhibition, Magnolia de la Garza and Patrick Charpenel, depart from the idea of miscegenation to display an interpretation of international contemporary art from Mexico, structured around five concepts: pedagogy, identity, territory, economy and community. The exhibition includes over 120 works by 57 relevant artists such as Jimmie Durham, Superflex, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Alighiero Boetti, Ulises Carrión, Hélio Oiticica, Gabriel Orozco, Mario García Torres, Leonor Antunes, Gary Hill, Pierre Huyghe, Wolfgang Tillmans, Marcel Broodthaers, Bruce Nauman or Cindy Sherman.
