Ana María Martínez Sagi (Barcelona, 1907-2000) stood out in the most varied sporting disciplines, winning a gold medal in Javelin throw at the first national women's athletics championship in 1931. She was a very active member of the Club Femení i d'Esports, a pioneering initiative of Catalan feminism. She would also become the first female director of a football club in Europe, Barcelona, in 1934. She collaborated in several newspapers and magazines during the Second Republic and was a chronicler on the Aragon front during the Civil War.

Her journalistic production, a large part of which is collected in this volume, stands out for its modernity and social commitment. The volume also contains a careful selection of poems, some of which remained unpublished or scattered in various publications.

Juan Manuel de Prada (Baracaldo, Vizcaya, 1970) was responsible for studying and compiling the texts in this volume. For almost two decades, when he made Ana María Martínez Sagi the protagonist of his novel Las esquinas del aire, he has been advocating the work of this unjustly forgotten writer. Juan Manuel De Prada is the author of the novels Las mascaras del héroe (Ojo Crítico Prize), La tempestad (Planeta Prize) and La vida invisible (National Narrative Prize), among others. His collaborations in the press have won prizes such as the Mariano de Cavia Prize.
