This project has been developed in collaboration with Fundación Migres  and under the scientific supervision of the Doñana Biological Station (CSIC).  Its aim is to re-establish a viable population of ospreys in the Marismas del Odiel Natural Park, capable of surviving with little or no human intervention in the long term.

The species bases its diet on fresh fish and because of this, it usually nests near water points. The Odiel marshes form an appropriate environment for this initiative, as they comprise different landscapes and habitats (coastal ecosystems in formation, tidal and continentalised marshes and coastal sand dunes) that will allow the Osprey to become well established.
