Juan Larrea (Bilbao, 1895-Argentina, 1980) is the lost prophet of the Generation of ‘27 and one of the great Spanish poets and essayists of the twentieth century, as well as a collector of pre-Columbian art who laid the foundations for the current Museo de América Collection.

"Since last night I am changed inside." This is how this unpublished diary of Larrea begins. From 1942 to 1947, from his Mexican exile, Larrea played with the prodigy of his writing, uniting world events and their laws with the routines of his daily life and his inner feelings, in a sort of story between the real and the mythical that points to a New World based on love and the redemption of man.

The introduction to this book is signed by the hispanist Gabriele Morelli, professor at the University of Bergamo, who has already produced two volumes dedicated to the Chilean poet Vicente Huidobro for the Colección Obra Fundamental. The prologue is by Juan Manuel Díaz de Guereñu, Professor of Literature at the University of Deusto and a great specialist on the author.
