De Cranach a Picasso. Banco Santander Collection

FROM MARCH 13 TO JUNE 06 - 2013

De Cranach a Picasso is an exhibition organised by Fundación Santander and curated by José Manuel Cruz Valdovinos. It showcased almost 70 works from the Banco Santander Collection at the National Museum in Wroclaw (Poland), including paintings, drawings and two pieces by the great Spanish sculptors Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Chillida. This was the first time that such a large number of works from the Collection were exhibited together in another European country.

The exhibition included a selection of pieces that extended chronologically from the second third of the 16th century to 1973. It aimed to display a representative selection of the Banco Santander Collection based on its most significant pictorial genres: religious, portraits, legendary and mythological, landscapes and still life art, as well as informalist pieces.
