At the beginning of June 1962, Dionisio Ridruejo (Burgo de Osma, Soria, 1912 -Madrid, 1975) was already an undisputed reference of the opposition to Francoism. His attendance to the IV Congress of the European Movement condemned him to live in exile for two years. Between 1962 and 1964 he maintained this intense correspondence with his wife, Gloria de Ros.

The letters, unpublished until today, are a private chronicle of the life of a conspirator. Torn between a sense of duty and family nostalgia, a man with mixed feelings regarding returning to his country, always concerned about the family problems and determined to rebuild a democratic conscience for his compatriots.

Jordi Amat (Barcelona, 1978) and Jordi Gracia (Barcelona, 1965), essayists specialised in the Spanish cultural and literary world of the twentieth century, were responsible for the prologue and the selection of the texts included in this work.
