The Fundación Banco Santander intends to contribute to the literary field, rediscovering and recovering through the Colección Obra Fundamental those contemporary writers in Spanish language to which the historic forgetfulness has unfairly driven to the anonymity and the oblivion, being nearly impossible due to different reason to find their works published.
It is a collection though for today’s reader as well as for the scholar that pursuits finding the main core of the output of these writers, what characterises and distinguishes them in contrast to the remaining authors of their time. This collection does not aim to gather the complete production of these authors, but the most outstanding works, which are difficult to get to know for today’s readers of this distinguished group of writers which must form part of our literary history of the 20th century.
