The Daros Latinamerica Collection, with venues in Zúrich and Río de Janeiro, was started at he beginning of the current century with the objective of that in it could be represented those artists of Latin America whose work promised having an important impact.
The artists as well as the works that form the Daros Latinamerica Collection are as heterogeneous as the countries that they represent. This diversity extends also to the media and materials of expression: from the classical techniques of painting, sculpture or drawings to the most innovative formats such as installations, videos or sound pieces. From a temporary point of view, the Collection has centred in Works of the last twenty years, but it also includes important figures of the sixties and seventies.
The exhibition that is now shown by the Fundación Banco Santander is a very representative exhibition, due to the fact that the 70 selected works belonging to 22 artists amongst which can be found Carlos Amorales, Julio Le Parc, Oswaldo Maciá, Vik Muniz, Leandro Elrich or Betsabeé Romero amongst others, cover practically all the spectrums of styles, formats and trends of the Collection. The selection of works has been responsibility of Katrin Steffen, curator of this exhibition together with Hans-Michael Herzog.
